When life changes
and nothing is as it seems
you take it as you wish and move to what follows
we all fall behind on occasion
and forget what shouldn't be
lose something you never thought you would
reach for something you aren't sure you'll get
people tell you what they think
you tell them what you feel is true
hearts change
love comes and goes just as an unforecast storm
things fall apart
before we can put them back together the wind blows pieces away
empty spaces left to later be replaced when least expected
sometimes we don't even witness their arrival

you never loose anything you weren't meant to
can't change what is lost
can't force the heart that turns away yours again
can't live without the breath that hangs between your soul and the one thats departed
we give ourselves away to then be handed back
ask for someone who wants to give of themselves but wont
I can't remedy the beat of my heart or the emptiness of my breath
I can't change what I feel
I can't take whats not offered
my soul lingers, ready and waiting afraid your lost to me.
