Natural Homemade Makeup and Beauty Aids from Your Kitchen

Inexpensive, Organic or Natural Beauty Ideas

At home, all natural beauty care and makeup is something many women have experimented with over the years. Whether it was your teen years when your mother wouldn't buy that expensive lip gloss and you tried to make it yourself, or when you were older and wanted to
save some money or use more natural items, chances are you have found a beauty or health care tip from your own kitchen, pantry or bathroom shelf that works in a pinch.

In this article, we'll explore some favorite beauty tips for using all natural, at home makeup and beauty aids, without spending a small fortune. Most of these tips came from a group of teenage girls who all asked their friends to report back their favorite all natural beauty tips.

Let's see what they had to say and explore some other homemade beauty care tips too.

Lip Care

Most beauty stores sell those tiny round tins or plastic containers with lids that screw on, much like the children's lip gloss come in, and you can usually buy them in bulk for just a few dollars. Using sugar-free, pre-sweetened Kool-Aid (Strawberry-Kiwi makes a nice light color, while Cherry makes a darker red) and mixing a small amount of the powder color of choice with inexpensive petroleum jelly, and you have a nice flavored lip gloss.

TIP: Mix the powder thoroughly to avoid lumps and clumps and make an even shade. These make great gifts for teenagers and young girls, and even have a great flavor!

Beets are a nice, deep, rich, dark reddish color to a dark purple, and the juice from a beet will stain for quite some time. If you want a long lasting color on your lips, mash the juice from either fresh or canned beets (the canned variety are easier to mash), and then using a cotton swab, carefully outline the shape of your lips with the beat juice and then color in the rest of your lips. This will provide long lasting color that will stay on through eating, swimming, sweating - you name it!

If the color is too dark, mixing with a little petroleum jelly will lighten the color and provide some gloss, or you can mix with melted beeswax for less gloss but a smoother, easier to apply beet lip color.

3 tbsp of olive oil mixed with 2tbsp of any kind of regular sugar makes an awesome exfoliating scrub for feet and hands. Just scrub feet and hands in the mixture for a few seconds and rinse off with warm water. Towel off excess oil left on your skin. This gives your skin the same feeling of an expensive parrafin wax treatment.

If you read the title though - it's 'natural home made' AND 'from your kitchen'... though, I don't usually use petroleum jelly for cooking, I do keep it in my kitchen. LOL

Well written article, but not what I hoped for from the title. Kool-aid and petroleum are about as far from natural as you can get.
