Reality shows are either the bane of mankind or the boom of free speech. Either way, according to the statistics, there are a lot of people who tune in to watch hapless folks be made fools of all for the sake of the almighty dollar. Past reality shows have made people eat things never designed for a menu, live with people that they wouldn't be caught dead with, and be humiliated into losing weight, losing their personality, or losing their religion. This new show, from ABC, Fix My Husband, promises a "husband improvement" concept. If popular, count the seconds till Fix My Wife airs.

ABC is offering to fix your husband. Whether he has a constant problem with "plumber pants", a mullet, or a Monday night football addiction, ABC has a husband makeover show designed to transform him into the knight in shining armor that you married. It's a light hearted look at the problems that most husbands have, though they don't admit to.

ABC is casting spots for the show now. They are looking for married couples where both husband and wife are over 21 and where the wife would like her husband to be fixed over. The show spans the course of the week and customizes both internal and external makeovers for the man. ABC has promised "For every couple that participates in Fix My Husband, a custom storybook ending awaits…!" I'm picturing "The Swan" only without boob jobs and high heels, but we'll see.

To be cast: If you live in the New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut area, please call 917-678-9996; for the Greater Minneapolis area, please call 612-339-6141. You can also email them at fixmyhusbandcasting@yahoo.com. Your hubby cannot have a history of alcohol issues, violence, or drug addiction.

ABC's website, www.abc.com, has links for the eligibility requirements, the application form, and the release form. Is your husband a good fixer-upper? Do you think his appraisal could be boosted with a bit of bling? Then ABC has a show for you.
