The Daily Parade in Downtown Seattle, WADowntown Seattle is similar to many city centers throughout the west coast. There is a museum district, an international district, a business district, a theatre district, shopping outlets, venues for meetings and conventions, all kinds on restaurants and diners as well as housing from modest to luxury.
This time of the year construction crews are working feverishly to take advantage of the mild temperatures to begin new projects, complete projects and process annual maintenance projects. Meanwhile, commuters mill about going back and forth to work, attend seminars and meetings, run errands or visit the pigs. Yes, that's right visit the pigs. There are pigs on parade daily all about downtown Seattle, Washington. Some other cities have horses on parade or cows on parade, here in Seattle, Washington there are pigs, all kinds of pigs, are types of pigs... Why pigs? What do they stand for in the emerald city? Why not salmon on parade since they annually swim upstream here? Why not bears on parade as they are our constant neighbors and sometimes actually raid our garbage? I could see even possums or raccoons on parade as they canvas the streets every night without fail. However, I have yet to see neither hide nor hair of swine as a stroll up and down the streets of Seattle, Washington.
