Tyler Perry assembled this cast from a variety of places. At least three worked with him on his previous plays and movies. The others came from the theatre, commercials, and gospel arenas.

It is clear from the cast that Perry is endeavoring to deal with real issues that black families face, but in his characteristic humorous style.

One of the strengths of the show is that Perry has a family unit. Considering that 75% of black children are born out of wedlock, and that the number of black marriages sits at 47.9 percent.

Perry seems to want to educate this current generation about what family is all about.

All the episodes can be found at http://www.tbs.com. They are split into 2-5 minute segments with a commercial at the beginning.

One episode, "Busted" is a little long getting off the ground. it is the revelation that Janine is a crack addict and how the family deals with it. It had a couple of humorous lines, but was serious at its core. This probably works better watching it on TV because the way it is broken up on TBS is just weird and breaks the flow.
Normally, I am a proponent of watching shows online, just not in this case.

This show is a little bit of a departure for Tyler Perry. His normal form is full two hour plays and movies. In that form there is time to get the characters developed and the humor going. In the TV with 22 minutes development was happen more quickly.
