Independence day means family and cookouts. Just about everyone has a barbecue or will attend one this holiday. If your having a party, make sure your desserts scream 4th of July. If you are going to a party, then be nice and take a dessert with you. Your company will love the extra effort you placed into this to make it extra festive. Many typical desserts can become festive with just a few touches of color and design. Combining some simple ingredients will make your part more festive. Cute Colored Strawberries
A great treat for any summer party. Can change the color of sugar to go with any theme.
Ingredients:
2 Pints of Strawberries
1/4 cup blue colored sugar
1/4 cup white colored sugar
8 ounces of softened creme cheese
4 tablespoons confectioners sugar
8 teaspoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Place Berry's in a strainer and wash them. Lay out on a paper towel so they can dry.
Place the colored sugars in small separate bowls.
In a medium bowl you should combine the confectioners sugar, creme cheese, milk and vanilla. Blend well.
Holding the top of the berry, dip almost the whole berry in the cream cheese mixture. You don't want to dip the stem or a small part of the top. You want some red to show through. Then dip them into the colored sugar. Lay them out on festive plates and enjoy.
