Not sure who you should vote for in the 2008 Presidential election? You could spend a lot of time reading up on the 2008 Presidential candidates and their views on different issues. If you did this, you'd probably figure out how big name candidates feel about Iraq, global warming, universal health care and a few other issues. And when you got to the polls, you'd still probably see on the ballot some names of people of whom you've never heard.

This approach to learning about the 2008 Presidential candidates would take you a lot of time. And if you do it as a crash course, you probably won't even remember half of what you read. What if someone could make it simpler?

Well, someone has tried to make it simpler. Attitude Media has put together a very brief survey. Answer 12 questions yes or no, check those questions that are likely to carry a lot of weight with you at the voting booth, and press the "cast your vote" button. Attitude Media will then tell you which candidate's views most closely match your own.

Is this a new craze that will have a major impact on upcoming United States Presidential elections? Undoubtedly not, but it is a lot of fun and taking the Attitude Media survey will give you a quick summary of the various candidates views. Even if the Attitude Media survey doesn't define for you whom you should vote for in the upcoming Presidential elections, it may help you narrow the field of candidates on whom you focus.

I took the Attitude Media survey for fun. It told me my views were most aligned with those of Dennis Kucinich. Hhm. Must be that year I spent in Cleveland. Something in the Cuyahoga water? My newfound kindred spirit Denny and I, we both think that war in Iraq ought to end. We're not too fond of the War on Drugs either and would like to see that one end with it. It's so 80s. About time we moved onto something else. And we may have just the thing. Dennis Kucinich and I are both eager to see the United States government take on global warming. If there has to be a war on something, global warming is a pretty good target. No lives lost, and it comes packaged with good feelings about helping human and animal kind.

Takeaways
  • All the candidates except Rudy Giuliani believe the government should take action on global warming.
  • Stay in Iraq or get out? The candidates answers are pretty much split along party lines.
  • McCain, Huckabee, Romney, Giuliani: for indefinite detention of suspected terrorists without charges

New link for the survey...the other one one has moved and so I hunted it down: http://minnesota.publicradio.org/projects/ongoing/select_a_candidate/poll.php?race_id=13 You'll have to cut & paste it into your browser. Anyhow really great article & the survey results were interesting!

Interesting, though the page is now gone. You should really come and check out this article: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/438946/what_issues_will_determine_your_presidential.html These ones still work.

I have to say considering that Ron Paul has the highest average score amongst everyone voting, and considering that I lean between moderate and liberal, that since they matched me up with that man, he's lying through his teeth like every other Republican that's ever gotten into office. They tell everyone everything they want to hear and do the exact opposite once they're in office... Bush Jr is prime example. There is no way I'll vote for RP or any other Elephant. I'll stick with the donkeys... they may lie too, but at least they try to make good on their word.

Ron Paul for president 2008. I matched with him answering objectively, plus already supported him.

Ron Paul is only second to God! If you enjoy any of your freedoms and don't want them stripped one by one, till the Ron Paul is our best candidate. I saw a video where Hillary wet her pants when someone mentioned his name, and Guilliani ran for the hills.

Good article.

BTW, I'm apparently second only to Ron Paul -- run, run for the hills, everyone!

Would you please write an article about Ron Paul so Barefoot will stop asking that question everywhere! Good article: should be on the showcase all through the primary season.

You've convinced me Bruno. I hereby proclaim the inauguration of the Bruno for President campaign.

I matched best with Hillary and Obama (they tied), which was no big surprise. More interesting was that I personally ranked higher than all of the Republicans....does that mean they forfeit this time :)
