Try uninstalling and reinstalling the adapters software. Perhaps the software has become corrupt and needs to be removed and reinstalled.
Do a search for relevant drivers on the manufacturers website. If you are still unable to connect to the internet, try doing a search on the manufacturers website for updated drivers. Many times, the problem you are having has already been recongnized and a new driver for your product has been released. Download the most recent version. Also, be sure you are downloading drivers for the correct device. The driver may be ineffective if it was designed for a similar but different model number.
Try the adapter on another PC using a different router if possible. This isn't an option for everyone, but it provides invaluable information. If the adapter works on another computer, then there is a specicific problem that only effects functionalliry on the original computer. For instance, does one computer have a different operating system from the other? If so, there may be a compatibility issue. Something that can normally be solved by downloading the appropriate driver.
Try Tech Support. A phone call to tech support can be time consuming, but sometimes its the only option left. Be prepared to answer questions about your prouduct such as model #, date of purchase, operating system, etc. You will likely be asked scripted questions designed to determine what the problem is by ruling out certain possibilities. Be as descriptive as you can about your problem to recieve a solution faster. If you were able to test the adapter on another computer and it worked, be sure to tell the tech. If your proudct is stll under warranty, you may be refunded or the manufacturer my ship you a new one.
