Stay Cool! Hydrate yourself! That is the number-one thing to do when the weather is really hot. But, not all summer beverages are created equal. Delectable-looking iced coffee and tea contain caffeine, which is a diuretic and may cause fluid loss. Opt for water and diluted fruit juice instead. Taking a tall glass of water and adding ice, a sprinkle of a no-cal sweetener like Splenda and a powerful squirt of fresh lemon is a fabulous, cheap and thirst- quenching recipe. You can make this healthy cocktail more colorful by adding a splash of cranberry juice and a sprig of mint. You can always try a sports drink to replenish the salt you lose through perspiration. Make a cooling milkshake, use ice cubes, fruit and juice. Mix it all together in a blender. If you do drink coffee or tea, try drinking ice coffee or tea. If you use mild in your coffee or tea, try putting ice cream in the drink.

Take a tepid shower. Tepis is not too warm and not too cold. It is the water that you would bathe a baby in. Showers outrank baths because they are more sanitary and cool you off instantly. They take only a few minutes and are easy on your skin. Don't make the water too cold or too hot . The last thing you need is to do raise your body temperature. Be sure to use a nondrying clenser like Cetaphil to keep your skin supple. Want instant relief without disrobing? Spritz yourself with a little spray bottle of ice water.

Avoid cooking heavy, spicy foods in hot weather. They produce heat and can make you miserable if you're active. Who wants to sweat over a hot stove? Eating cold foods make you feel cooler.

Oddly enough a fragrance can make you feel cooler. That is because when we think fragrance, we think smell good vacations. Like when we get a whiff of orchids and other flowers. Vacation is synonymous with, chillin. Also, light fragrance with a lot of citrus and airy smells like lemon, mandarin and tangerine, evaporate quickly and make you feel cooler than would a heavy, musky oil.
