It is important to enjoy these festivities with family and friends but it is equally important to teach children what this day really means.

We can use this holiday celebration as an opportunity to educate our children about the history of the Declaration of Independence and what it means to this great country.

A fun way to teach American history is creating a themed menu for the 4th of July. Creating a red white and blue ice cream cake to explain what the colors of the flag represent.
