When your daughter suddenly becomes a teenager she may suddenly feel that she is unattractive. Of course this is something that all young girls experience when they become teenagers. Many women have come to know this as the awkward phase in their life. Usually when a girl reaches the age of fifteen sometimes earlier for some teens, they will want to get rid of the hair that has grown all over their bodies. Some girls are never shown the proper way to shave their hair and will usually attempt to figure it out by themselves usually without the knowledge of their parents. If you are a mother however you may want to take the time and show your daughter the proper way to shave and what areas you may want to tell her to avoid shaving.

The first thing that you will need to do is buy your daughter a razor that is especially made for women. These razors usually are gently enough and made in a way that helps to avoid accidentally nicks or cuts. You will then want to choose what gel or cream would work best for her. Whoever trying a new cream or gel on your daughter's skin it is important to teach her to do a test first. You basically will place the cream on a very small section of your leg or arm, and then wash it off. You will then want her to wait a few days to make sure that she does not have some type of reaction to the cream. Once you find one that she likes and does not have a reaction too you can then begin to teacher her how to shave her legs and arms. For most teens it is only necessary to shave the arms and legs if they want to. Any facial hair should be removed with cream and don't use a razor. As for the myth that if you cut your hair it will begin to grow back thicker, doctors have confirmed that this is just not true. The same amount of hair will end up growing back after you cut it that you had before.
