Nordstrom Recalls Two Children's Clothing Items Due to Safety Concerns

SEATTLE, Wa. - Nordstrom, a clothing retailer, is voluntarily recalling two items of children's clothing which have been deemed unsafe, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Nordstrom is recalling approximately 1,900 "Pine Peak Blues Children's Jackets" and "children's jeweled sandals," according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Nordstrom Recall of the Pine Peak Blues Children's Jackets

The Pine Peak Blues Children's Jackets sold by Nordstrom pose a potential choking hazard, hence the recall. The jackets are made in the following children's clothing sizes: infant., toddler, and youth.

Consumers may also identify the recalled jacket by its long sleeves, and navy blue color. There is a picture of the flag of England embroidered on the left-hand side of the jacket, according to the CPSC.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the zipper pull may detach from the jacket's zipper. The detached zipper could be a potential choking hazard to young children.

As of the announcement of the recall, no injuries have been reported to authorities.

Nordstrom Recall of Children's Jeweled Sandals

According to the U.S. CPSC, approximately 1,800 pairs of Calypso sandals for children are being voluntarily recalled by Nordstrom's. According to Nordstrom's the number is 12,175 pairs of sandals.

While no current injuries or incidents have been reported, the jewels, like the zipper on the jacket, can detach and pose a choking hazard for young children.

Both products were manufactured in China. according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission

Recall and Consumer Action

Consumers who own either of these products are advised to promptly remove the dangerous items from the possession of children. The clothing items may be returned to any Nordstrom store for a full refund on the recalled products.

As expensive as this store is, you would think they clothes would at least be safe.

I tend to think that sometimes, these recalls go overboard. Can't zipper pulls always detach if you pull on them hard enough? Something can always fall of of something.

That is a cool jacket... Wonder if I can find a few cheap right now on eBay. HA! (hey, I could fix that zipper pull thang myself easily enough)

Doesn't seem like much of a safety threat unless they're in toddler sizes.
