Fourth of July is great time to gather with the community and enjoy festivals and fireworks. Celebrate the birth of our nation with family, friends and neighbors. Following are some of the Fourth of July events in Indiana.

Indianapolis July 4


"Freedom Blast" is the largest fireworks display in Indiana. The downtown sky will light up starting at 9:45 pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring radios and tune in to WFBQ, 94.7, for a synchronized concert of patriotic music.

Independence in Indiana/Canal Family Fest. The Illinois State Museum welcomes everyone to its scenic location on the downtown canal walk. Family oriented activities followed by fireworks.

Free evening concerts at the Indiana History Center Canal Plaza. Reserved table seating available from $20 to $35. The cafe and bar will be open in the evening.

Althenaeum. the traditional family event in the Kellersaal for a "cool" celebration. Headline the event are entertainers Joy Fox and his Bavarian Showtime Band. The Rathskeller Restaurant serves a patriotic buffet from 5:30 - 7 pm with fired chicken, pasta salad, baked beans, watermelon, ice cream and brownies. Participants have fantastic view of the fireworks outside in the Athenaeum Biergarten. Admission $20 in advance and $25 at the door includes buffet.

U.S. Latvian Song Festival. The Latvian community hosts a song and dance fest

Rooftop 4th of July Party includes BBQ dinner with all the sides. Top it off with a fabulous view of the fireworks display downtown. Fountain Square Theatre building. $60..

Fireworks Party at Scottish Rite Cathedral is open to members and accompanied guests.

Pops Concert Series: Indianapolis Municipal Band. Garfield Park at the MacAllister Center for the Performing Arts.

Indianapolis Propyleum: patriotic ceremonies, entertainment, children's games and flag parade. Buffet for fee. Entertainment by Jim McMahon and "Klem the Klown". $5.

Bloomington, IN. July 3. 4th of July Fireworks are sponsored by AMVETS Post 2000 and the Bloomington/Monroe County Community. The Fireworks show is held at the Indiana University Memorial after 9:30 pm.
