Product Review: Dove Sugar Free Chocolates

These May Very Well Be the Best on the Market Today

Both my husband and my mother were diagnosed with diabetes within a few months of each other. Consequently, I had to quickly learn what kinds of foods they could and couldn't eat. I knew that I was faced with one particular problem because both of them have an incredible sweet tooth, particularly as it relates to chocolate.

When they were first diagnosed there were very few sugar free candies on the market. Those that were available weren't very good and left a horrible aftertaste in the mouth. Both my husband and my mother pronounced them inedible and continued to sneak pieces of real chocolate whenever I wasn't looking.

Luckily today there are a wide variety of great sugar free candies on the market. Russell Stovers makes a truly amazing sugar free milk chocolate with a wide variety of different fillings. Dove makes what I consider to be the very best sugar free dark chocolate that can be found anywhere, I actually prefer it to most their sugar packed competitors.

Dove's advertisements claim they "are passionate about chocolate." I believe it! Thank heavens that passion extends to the sugar free variety as well. They currently only make three flavors, which include Dark, Double Chocolate with Raspberry Creme, Dark Double Chocolate Creme, and Double Dark Chocolate Mint. I'm hoping that, at some point in the future, they'll add a Dark Double Chocolate with Cappuccino Creme. I'm pretty sure I could keep them in business by myself with that one.

One thing that makes their chocolate so unique is that they use only premium cocoa beans. Sure they cost a little more but the flavor proves it is worth the extra time, effort, and money. Dove chocolate is absolutely luscious! It is so smooth on the tongue and so creamy to the taste buds that the entire eating experience is almost orgasmic.
