Bon Jovi Unplugged
Bon Jovi Unplugged premieres on various media outlets such as MTV, CMT and VH1 beginning June 19,2007--just in time to coincide with the release of Bon Jovi's new album 'Lost Highways'. These unplugged performances will be shown all across multi-media platforms--television, radio, web
casts, cell phones, et cetera --providing a huge cross-culture exposure boost to the band, reaching many more people across various music genres than ever before.
'Unplugged' gigs are acoustic, intimate performances that showcase a band such as Bon Jovi's true sound, true talent that brought them to fame in the first place. Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora's surprise bare-bones acoustic performance in 1989 at the MTV Video Music Awards supposedly inspired the 'Unplugged' series in the first place-- 'two guys and two guitars' Jon Bon Jovi is quoted as saying in reference to the 1989 performance. Many artists followed suit in such stripped-down, rugged performances that connected them to their audiences and won many of them wide-spread acclaim as a result. Fans like the basic, earthy sounds and feelings unplugged performances bring to the forefront.
While MTV brought forth the 'Unplugged' series initially, it will now be broadcast on the other outlets(CMT, VH1), with each individual station showing a different version specifically directed to their respective target audiences. The three different showings of the Bon Jovi 'Unplugged' appearance will premiere June 22-24, beginning with MTV on Friday June 22, VH1 Saturday June 23 and Sunday June 24 on CMT.
The band will also have TV appearances to coincide with the release of the new album 'Lost Highways', two of them being the Today show on June 19th and the View on June 20th.
Bon Jovi is a long-lasting, true to sound band that has weathered many ups and downs through the years, to arrive at this 'Unplugged' in top-notch form. The Bon Jovi band has sold over 120 million albums around the world and performed more than 2,500 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 32 million people. Wow.
