For many men, male pattern baldness is a difficult and embarrassing situation. Many men spend several millions of dollars annually on products to stop hair loss and indeed re-grow their hair. Many men are unaware of the many natural remedies available to prevent further hair loss, and in some cases re-grow hair that has already been lost.

Male pattern baldness isn't limited to middle aged men, some men begin to experience slight to moderate hair loss as early as in their twenties. I am 27, and I have already begun to experience a slight form of male pattern baldness. In my quest to understand the causes of male pattern baldness, I became aware of the causes of male pattern baldness, as well as non medical preventions and treatments of male pattern baldness.

One of the leading causes of male pattern baldness is poor dietary habits. You've heard the old saying that certain foods will 'put hair on your head'. Though some people will say that this is simply an old wives' tale, there is actually some truth to it. Studies have shown that foods rich in protein, such as meats, poultry, and eggs, works with your body to elevate levels of biotin, which is an essential nutrient needed to prevent hair loss. In addition to meats, poultry, and eggs, Biotin can be found in many shampoos and vitamin supplements. Poor dietary habits in men are also responsible for conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease, and prostate cancer.

If you've made changes to your diet and still can't grow new hair, you should try one of the many vitamin and mineral supplements available. Biotin and saw palmetto are two of the most commonly used mineral supplements available to prevent male pattern baldness. Both biotin and saw palmetto are available in many men's health stores and even some beauty salons and barber shops. These mineral supplements have been shown to gradually increase hair growth, and, in some cases, reverse the hair loss process.

Takeaways
  • diets rich in protein will help to prevent male pattern baldness
  • saw palmetto and biotin are two of the most common natural mineral treatments for baldness
