One of the most often anticipated events of summer is the annual family vacation. Family vacations are a chance to see a different location, create new memories and have a little fun. In the Southern United States, one of the top family vacation destinations is Chattanooga, Tennessee. Chattanooga has many activities and tourist attractions for everyone in the family.

One of the top destinations in Chattanooga is the Tennessee Aquarium. The Tennessee Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the Southeast, with thousands of exotic fish, reptiles, and amphibians to see. The aquarium also has many interactive videos and audio information about reptiles, amphibians, and fish from around the world. The aquarium is large enough to accommodate a crowd, while at the same time, appear to be not crowded. The aquarium has a gift shop with a wide variety of aquarium souvenirs and Chattanooga souvenirs for you to remember your trip.

Rock City is another top tourist destination in Chattanooga. Rock City offers many rock formations for you to walk through, ride through, and paddle through on boats. One of my personal favorites at Rock City is the swinging bridge. During one of my trips to Rock City, I was on the swinging bridge. Behind me was this morbidly obese man. There I was, in the dark, on the swinging bridge, and this morbidly obese man starts jumping up and down on the bridge causing it to swing even more than normal. That was my most fun memory of Rock City.

When you're in Chattanooga, You absolutely must take a horse and carriage ride downtown at night. The horse and carriage takes you downtown across the cobblestone streets of downtown Chattanooga amid the glow of the decorative street lights.

One of Chattanooga's greatest tourist destinations is the incline railway. The incline railway is a train which runs from the top of Lookout Mountain to the bottom of Lookout Mountain and down a waterfall off the mountain.

Takeaways
  • The Tennessee Aquarium is one of the top destinations of Chattanooga
  • Chattanooga is located in the heart of the Lookout Mountain range
