Weddings are special and what make them more special are the wedding speeches. Most people are under the impression that wedding speeches are difficult to write and deliver. Well, delivering the speech may be difficult, the writing it is definitely not.

The speech becomes all the more important for you if you are the best man at the wedding. You should prepare your speech well in advance. You start jotting down points 2-3 weeks before the wedding day. There are certain things which you must keep in mind while you are writing the wedding speech. First of all, it should be short and simple. Don't take it beyond 5 minutes. The guests at the wedding will probably get bored of your speech if it is too long.

A perfect wedding speech is one which makes the bride and groom feel special. You need to remember that this is their day and you must make it really special for them. Make you speech really simple. Don't indulge into unnecessarily details and over the top jokes. Yes, humor is required in wedding speeches but you should not overdo it. You can divide the speech into three parts and it will become a lot easier for you. The speech can have a beginning, middle part and then the end. The starting and ending of the speech should be excellent because this is what people remember.

The weeding speech must always have a congratulatory message for the newly wed couple. Do not give details from your college days which the bride won't like. However if there is something memorable from your college days, do share it. Don't forget to mention that the couple holds a special place in your heart and will always do so. You need to keep the speech positive.

Do not crack jokes on the bride or her relatives. Such things can offend people. Your speech should not have any negative words. It should not insult anyone. You should not mention about the groom's previous girlfriends in the speech. Try to make it a bit funny. You can get some funny quotes from various magazines and internet.
