Procrastinating is one thing that keeps writers from writing that article. It's easy to put aside your writing to do other things. Sometimes the article words just don't flow easily, and giving up on the article till later seems to be the only option. There are some ways that you can get that article written quickly.

Everyday have a tasks list, things that you want to accomplish during the day. It doesn't have to be all writing related. Schedule your whole day on a sticky note that you keep with you, so that you know what needs done that day. Cross them off as you do them so you can track your progress.

Outline the article, what are your main points of the article going to be. Ask yourself a few questions. Such as what do you want your readers to get from the article? What are the points that you want the reader to take away from the article? Once you have the main points of the article the rest will come easy.

Write one sentence for each paragraph so that you have something to build off of. Once you have the main point for the paragraph building off that point for each paragraph will give you the main idea for that paragraph.

Writers block can be part of the reason you're procrastinating. Again the outline will help you here. Just think of your audience and what they will expect from your article. Once you put yourself in their shoes, you will know what to write. What will they expect to learn from your article, and then convey the message to them. I keep a notebook of ideals that I want to write about, different topics for different moods it is then easy to choose a topic that I can write about.

A topics journal is topics that you think of through-out the day that you would like to write about, write down a main ideal, then some other short ideals that you have to go with the main one. This way when it comes to writing the article, you have a basic bare-bones outline to write about. Ideas come from many different places, maybe something you overheard someone say, or saw something on the television. If you have a good list of topics, procrastinating on writing won't be as bad. You have the great ideals you just have to put them on paper now.

I get new ideas for articles after enjoying an AC one. I probably have 10 such articles on the backburner, some finished, just needing a little editing and polishing. I think my own procrastination comes from fear of rejection. All that work! Not accepted for publication or zero comments leads to whybotherism.
