Parents are often so enthused to be bringing their little ones to the annual fireworks display on the Fourth of July. They anxiously pack up everything that will be needed such as the blankets, snacks, warmer clothing, and drinks. What many parents don't do is pack up things that may help the small children overcome the fear of the loud booms. Although the parents are excited to bring their wee ones to see a dazzling display, it usually terrifies the young ones. It is generally the adults who truly love the show. Once the first firework sets off into the sky, small children often looked shell shocked and wonder why their parents were so happy coming to this event. Many times you see the parents coaxing the children into staying to witness an even more traumatizing show, the grand finale. In order to help prepare your child with sensitive ears for a Fourth of July fireworks display, there are a few items that you should bring along with you.

My twin daughters are very opposite with many things. While one loves the fireworks display, the other has been known to cry during the whole thing. In preparation for this year's display, I have thought about ways that would help my daughter overcome her fear of the loud noise. While I understand people's ears are more sensitive than others, I have purchased a set of basic foam ear plugs along with a pair of child ear muffs. The ear muffs blocks more sound and make the fireworks display more tolerable for those children with sensitive ears. You can purchase such a pair online at stores like sensorynoise.com or envirosafetyproducts.com. for about $15.00.
