30th Anniversary Elvis Week Highlights: Dale Earnhardt Jr. To Appear at Graceland

The 30th anniversary of legend Elvis Presley's death will be commemorated at Graceland in Memphis on August 11 - 19, 2007.

"Elvis, Music & Movies" will take place on the front lawn of Graceland on August 13. Dale Earnhardt Jr., famous as a NASCAR driver, will host the opening of the event on August 13 on the front lawn of Graceland. Earnhardt is a lifelong fan of Elvis, having grown up listening to his music with his grandmother.

Earnhardt will be joined on stage by NHRA driver Brandon Bernstein. A commemorative Elvis paint scheme for the Budweiser Top Fuel dragster will be supported by the King of Beers. Bernstein will race the dragster in the NHRA MAC Tools U.S. Nationals August 29 - September 3 in Indianapolis.

The Budweiser Clydesdale horses will be stabled in Graceland's horse barn and pastures for public viewing from August 14 - 18. Elvis had a passion for horses.

Dale Earnhardt will discuss racing and his love of Elvis music.The evenings entertainers will include Andy Childs and the rockabilly Trio, The Dempseys. The live performances will be followed by the famous Elvis movie "Viva Las Vegas. The movies has been restored and digitally remastered as part of Warner Bros. new release of Elvis movies.

Elvis Presley appreciated fine automobiles and loved car racing. In the movie Viva Las Vegas, Elvis stars as a race car driver. Dale Earnhardt Jr. adds excitement to the theme of Elvis, music and automobile racing.

Elvis Music & Movies at Graceland will be held on the Graceland Mansion grounds at 7:00 pm. The event is held on the lawn, so attenders are asked to bring a low beach style lawn chair or a blanket to sit on. Listen to the music of two of Elvis fans' favorite bands. Watch an Elvis movie under the romantic starry sky. Vendors will be selling refreshments outside the mansion gates. Food beverages nd coolers are not allowed on the mansion grounds Admission is $39.99. If you don't want to carry in chairs and blankets, there will be event themed beach chairs and blankets available for purchase.
