Some Say a Ghost Can Be Seen in the Image

A very unlikely image was captured by a surveillance camera at a court in Santa Fe called First Judicial District in the downtown that has left sheriffs, judges, clerks, lawyers and more pondering about the unexpected image.

According to the Associated Press, Some have the thought that it might have been a ghost. Other people think on the positive side, it might have been the reflection from a passing car or a piece of fluff from a nearby cottonwood tree.

A Santa Fe deputy noticed the image Friday morning as he arrived to the courthouse. He then reviewed the surveillance tape starting at the night before. Another deputy arrived about a half hour later and was asked by the first one to look at the tape.

The video shows a bright yellowish spot of light floating across the screen. It starts out from the back of the courthouse, across a parked police car, and off the lower corner of the frame. The strangest thing is though, that the light seems to be casting shadows as it slowly floats across the screen.

Later one deputy pointed out that it might have been the ghost of a man named Andy Lopez, who was shot at the courthouse in 1985 for peeking out of the back door.

A clerk told them how her husband used to work at night at the courthouse and told her that he heard footsteps, doors being opened and closed, and elevators going up and down.

Another man named Jude Torres works as a janitor at the court house at night , and has been working there for four years, and said he'd sometimes hear noises at night, but they always seemed to come from the part of the building where the light was seen.

A deputy later noticed that the footage seemed to get blurrier and blurrier every time they watched it on Friday. She said the first time she watched it, it was much more clear than now.

A public defender also reviewed the tape and decided that it was a drifting cottonwood seed from a nearby tree. Although, several others say they don't believe in ghosts, so they don't think it is one, and other do believe in them, saying "what makes us think we're the only ones on this planet?"
