Best Quality Movers Aren't Best

I recently had the opportunity to do a long distance move within the United States. I went out on the Internet searching for the best rate and best company to move all of my things. There are many, many moving companies out there so you need to be careful who you choose. I came across a

moving company that testified to be the "best" movers out there and they offered something different: price guarantee. This "price guarantee" meant that after I told them the list of all of my things they would give me a price quote for the total it would cost for those items to be moved, no matter their size or weight. On the day of moving the price wouldn't go up. Other companies give you an "estimate" of how much it will cost for your items but when they show up and your couch or table is a lot bigger than they "estimated", your price soars through the roof. I was very impressed with this "price guarantee" so we decided to go with Best Quality Movers. They also assured me of three things. The first being that they often went to the state I was moving to and so it wasn't a problem for them. They would be able to have my stuff there anytime I wanted. The second thing was that they would take very good care of all of my things and get them back to me in the condition they received them. The third assurance was that they owned all the trucks that they used. The customer sales person said that some moving companies sold their moves to other companies to actually perform the move but not Best Quality Movers. It was their trucks and their employees that handled all the moves. I was sold with this company so I signed the contract and set up a moving date.

I feel so bad for all the people who got scammed. Losing $400.00 was nothing compared to what they experienced. And in response to tipping. If you ask the large moving companies it is not customary or expected to tip movers. It is a nice gesture and left up to the discretion of the people moving. I usually buy coffee/breaksfast, lunch or dinner, snacks and plenty to drink. This ends up costing more than $5-$20 per person as suggested below. It is completely unethical to add on 15% to a large move, especiallly when they haven't finished loading or delivering the goods. We have used large moving companies and smaller ones. I can understand tipping professionals who do a good job, but usually when you use smaller companies they more than make up for it when they try to overcharge you for packing supplies they don't even use or double their original quote. They also usually end up breaking a few things, ruining floors and walls or leaving semi truck tracks on your lawn which we ne

Best Quality Movers,AKA Gary and Kobe Transportation, Koby Hincu "flew the coup" with customers money as of Aug 23,07 & most likely will be opening a new moving company!!Your household goods are now stored in unmarked(no names or lot numbers) crates at Bekins 20525 Nordhoff St Suite58,Chatsworth,ca.(818) 882-7220.If BQM made arrangements to store your goods, you best contact Bekins. When I spoke to the floor manager and asked him, "what if BQM doesnt pay the storage on these 40 some odd crates",he said "We then open them and TRY to identify who they belong to. I asked and if you cant,He said everything goes to auction to pay for the storage!!!

It is customary to tip movers. There is no set amount. Anywhere between $5-$20 per mover is a nice sentiment. On the otherhand these particular movers do appear unscrupulous and I would not have tipped them.

(continued. They suggested a 15% tip on a $5,600 move ($840). YOU DON'T TIP MOVERS. I have moved 11 times in 11 years and have never been asked to tip a mover. They were supposed to deliver 8/4 and called at 9:00 pm and asked if they could come at midnight. We told them no and they agreed to come at 7:00 a.m.the next day. However, they didn't show up until 2:30 p.m. and my husband had to help them unload. They lost the screws to some furniture and ruined our hardwood floors. I can accept some of this as a bad moving experience, but keeping our $400.00 is stealing from us and is not acceptable. DO NOT USE BEST QUALITY MOVERS!!!

Another bad experience here. We moved from California to Indiana. Rich planned our move and then we were told that he quit and Victor took over. After reading another post, I think Rich (if that's his name) is still there and only helps people with quotes and then abandons you. We put down a $400.00 depoit and then my husband's company paid the full amount upon delivery. Our contract said they would refund our deposit upon pmt in full. We have called 10 times and been placed on hold 10 minutes each time and then they hang up on us. 13 days later we still have not been refunded. On moving day they showed up in a huge semi truck and proceeded to load our belongings. We looked at their packing and noticed huge areas that were not packed tightly. They then told us that we couldn't be on the truck, which is total BS. They also charged us for a box of tape at $3.50 per roll which had not been disclosed to us ahead of time. They use ridiculous amounts of tape when padding furnitu

My husband and I were just scammed by this same company. My mother in law was moving to Colorado and we were going to pay for it. The guy I spoke with at Best Quality Movers was named Rich. He did the exact same thing. He gave me a quote over the phone and promised that they ALWAYS go to Colorado and that's why he could gurantee that no one else could beat his price. Three guys showed up in a Penske truck! NOT A BEST QUALITY MOVERS TRUCK. They loaded the things and took us to the truck to show us how it was loaded, claiming that they way that they stacked it had indeed saved us money. I noticed that they forms they carried did not have a Best Quality Movers Logo on it. It actually said, DYNAMIC MOVERS. I immediately copied the phone numbers and DOT numbers and MC numbers just incase. "RICH", if that is his real name, had also sent me an email containing the same info. I kept that as well. Well, four days pass and my mother in law never got her things. We went through hell

(continued)...The company had sent an 18-wheeler through my very small residential neighborhood to delivery my things. Of course, the police came, the truck was stuck in some other location around the corner. Finally by the time all the police paperwork was done, things were settled with the wire and my stuff way unloaded it was 2 am. Welcome to the neighborhood! This was blamed on me because sometime when they were trying to screw me by trying to charge me extra while loading my things, I was supposed to tell them if my new neighborhood could accommodate an 18-wheeler. I doubt any neighborhood can accommodate an 18-wheeler. Anyway, I have my things now and am forgetting about the ordeal. I have yet to meet anyone who hasn't had a hard time moving, but I think this experience with Best Quality Movers might beat the rest. Obviously, do not use them, unless you want to try and win the "worst moving experience ever" award. On the upside, the movers didn't dare ask for a tip after the poli

(continued)...By this time, I was calling frequently. It was not until 3 weeks past my delivery date did the truck leave from the original location. Then, supposedly, the truck "broke down" on its way. It was not until four weeks after my delivery date did the truck arrive with my things. In the meantime, I had to purchase clothes for work and other household items to live. Luckily, I borrowed a air mattress to sleep on. On the day of delivery, I got a phone call saying they would be there at 8:30 pm. This was actually perfect for me. Except, the truck didn't arrive until around 11 pm, which was actually still ok for me. Except, when I got the phone call saying they had arrived and to meet them outside, I went out only to be greeted by a load of neighbors who were all standing around a downed overhead wire. They said...oh my gosh...the biggest truck we've ever seen just came through here and took down this wire. The
