It's Okay to Masturbate!
Self love has been taboo ever since it has begun to be talked about - some mothers actually forced their daughters to wear steel like gloves to discourage them for masturbating at night, some went as far as to sprinkle a painful powder on the genitals of their daughters. It caused the parents to be so distraught that they were willing to go to those lengths to prevent masturbating.
When the subject comes up within my group of friends there is an awkward silence until the group lightens up and realizes that it's okay to talk about it. I am often the first to talk about it, as I am the most open with everything. Everyone masturbates - ladies claim that they don't but I am the first to admit that, yes - I have a favorite vibrator, and yes - I use it!
You masturbate, I masturbate, he masturbates and she masturbates - sometimes just as much as him. 94% of males claim that they masturbate, and 70% of females claim that they masturbate. This survey actually used the word "admit" but I have changed this because this connotes something to be ashamed of, or afraid of admitting.
What do we think about while we masturbate? Most of us fantasize but it is a very personal fantasy that we don't like to share. Often times we have visual or aural stimulation which can make the process more enjoyable.
Although masturbation is thought of as a private act it can be sexy and stimulating to masturbate with your partner simultaneously or have your partner masturbate you. There are many techniques that you can try with your partner and with yourself, after all, you know what you like best, don't you? No one knows your body better than you.
