Illusion and Attachment: the Causes of Murder

Once upon a time in a jungle, there lived a lion and all other animals. Lion was acclaimed by all other animals to be their king. Because of its strength they hailed him as the most powerful in the kingdom. One day, king lion was strolling in his majesty about the streets of the animal kingdom and passed by a lake. To its uttermost surprise, it saw another lion in the lake. It moved closer to take a look. Out of arrogance it said, "I know I am the only king of this kingdom, who are you?" With the same gesticulation and voice, the image replied by the echo of its voice, "I know I am the only king of this kingdom, who are you?"

With hot anger, king lion shouted, "I will prove to you that I am the most powerful here." And without hesitation it dived into the lake for a fight of supremacy. Not knowing that no lion can live in the water but the lion it saw was its own image and the voice it heard was the reflection of its own voice. King lion drowned and committed murder.

The lion's image is the illusion and the belief and mentality that is the most powerful in the kingdom is the attachment. The illusion and the attachment led to its death.

Illusion and attachment are synonymous and mean, "that which I have been made to believe that; I am , I can not do without, can not happen to me, and which I must get. These are working of the mind. The binding of our brains and emotions to certain situations-what we must tolerate and what we must not tolerate. We acquired these model of truth by tradition, training, custom and wrong impression.

After the creation of man, God blessed Adam and Eve and said, "Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Adam and Eve were happy. Sorrow, the opposite of happiness, entered the world as a result of illusion and attachment. Satan made them to believe that they can be like God. World is full of sorrow. Sorrow was generated by disobedience and disobedience by mentality we carry in our head. We want to be like God! Sorrow of losing the dominion God gave man over all other creatures. Thus , the murdering of our dominion.
