Excerpts of O.J. Simpson's "If I Did It" Have Been Leaked

Fox News reported on Monday that a judge ruled that the proceeds from O.J. Simpson's book, "If I Did It," which has been cancelled, be awarded to the family of murdered Ron Goldman, Nicole Simpson's friend. The Goldman family had been awarded a settlement of $33.5 million dollars in a civil suit of which they've not been able to collect. Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman had been murdered together in 1994, for which O.J. Simpson had been tried.

Paul Battista, an attorney for the Goldman family, stated that this recent ruling would "ensures that Mr. Simpson will never see another dime from this book." The Goldman family intends to retitle the book "Confessions of a Double Murderer."

Lorraine Brooke Associates owns the rights to the book and is run by O.J. Simpson's daughter, Arnelle. The contract with Harper Collins to publish the book shows a money trail of $630,000, which went from the publisher to Lorraine Brooke Associates and on to O.J. Simpson to cover his expenses. The book deal was cancelled by Harper Collins after the public became so enraged about the book.

Now, excerpts of the manuscript have been leaked online, to TMX.com. The opening is an excerpt of the beginning of the book written by Simpson:

I'm going to tell you a story you've never heard before, because no one knows this story the way I know it. It takes place on the night June 12, 1994, and it concerns the murder of my ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her young friend, Ronald Goldman. I want you to forget everything you think you know about that night because I know the facts better than anyone. I know the players. I've seen the evidence. I've heard the theories. And, of course, I've read all the stories: That I did it. That I did it but I don't know I did it. That I can no longer tell fact from fiction. That I wake up in the middle of the night, consumed by guilt, screaming.
