Did it Knock You Out?

The newest movie out in theaters, Knocked-Up, starring Katherine Heigl, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, Jay Baruchel, Jonah Hill, Jason Segel, and Martin Starr is ready to take on your funny bone. The comedy takes an everyday crisis and turns it into a tragic comedy.

When Alison Scot (Heigl, of Grey's Anatomy) finds herself in a difficult predicament after a one-night stand with Ben Stone (Rogen), they are both on completely seperate pages. Alison Scot is the up and coming broadcaster for a leading news station, while Ben Stone runs a failing business (if you can call it that) of running a web site that studies nude scenes of movies and lists them on the internet.

While their personalities, ethics, and overall goals in life contrast severely, the pair ultimately needs to handle the situation at hand. But how will they do it?

With all the media surrounding this film, the average movie-goer walks into the theaters ready to laugh their lungs silly. I'm quick to say that I laughed alot at this movie, but at the same time I felt as if I were the odd man out. While my humor ranges every which way, I couldn't help but feel that this movie is directly aimed at your middle-aged man or a woman with a sick mind. I found alot of the jokes humorous, but at points I was extremely disgusted with some of the content. Though it was very obvious who the main target audience was, I was really surprised that this movie was just given an R rating.

I think you could sum up the movie just as one of my (middle-aged male) co-workers put it, "It's kinda raunchy... but funny!"

I still want to see this but will wait til it comes to the Big Red Box for $1.00 lol. I only watch movies at the theater that would be better enhanced like action and sci-fi movies. thanks for writing about this.
