Will Obama GIrl Help or Hinder the Senator's Campaign?

"I've Got A Crush On Obama" is a steamy video featuring Obama Girl. In the video the love struck young woman calls the Senator saying "Hey B it's me, if you're there pick up...". The video continues with still shots of Senator Obama
inserted as Obama Girl sings and dances her way through the video. One scene shows bikini clad Obama Girl seeming to frolic in the ocean with a shot of swimsuit clad Obama racing into the water. Is Obama Girl using the 2008 Presidential Election to launch her singing career? An ad agency maxim is: sex sells. Has Senator Obama decided that this video will help sell the US voters on him?

None of the above. Obama Girl is the brainchild of "Barely Political" whose website header proclaims "Politics Are Ugly. Girls Are Pretty." According to a CNN interview the site owners want to make funny, political videos. The young woman featured in the video is model and aspiring actress, Amber Lee. Vocals for "I've Got A Crush On Obama" are done by Leah Kauffman who wrote the lyrics. The video was created by Ben Relles, produced by Rick Freidrich and directed by Larry Strong & Kevin Arbouet. They are all fans of Senator Obama.

When asked if they had heard from Mrs. Obama, the group admitted they had not. How will watching Howard Stern's "Girl of the Month" in red booty shorts emblazoned with the word: Obama affect his credibility among conservative voters? Will Obama Girl help or hinder the Senator's campaign? I have no idea, but the video has had over a million views on You Tube. It is also reported that the Obama Girl line of clothing worn in the video shoot is selling like hotcakes. One thing for sure: Internet technology and the young generation is heatng up the 2008 Presidential Campaign in ways never before imagined.

I think that it did not hurt his campaign.

I thought the video was hilarious, along with the part 2 follow-up. I don't think it has any impact on thye campaign either way though and Mrs. Obama (along with Barak) also thought it was funny. I'm voting for Obama, but not because of a video I watched on YouTube. Good article. :-)

Like they say, all publicity is good publicity.

Michelle, with Hillary comes Bill as "First Man" in the White House. I realize he got help with his "Sex Addiction", but it is the way he sounded so very sincere when he casually lied about Monica and many trusted him. Hillary may have been able to forgive him for his betrayal of trust, but with all the corruption in he White House, I think he is a minus, whereas, Michelle as "First Lady" is a plus. We shall see.

I saw that video a few weeks ago. It was good for a few laughs ...its kinda cute I guess, but it just seems like something you would see on a sketch comedy show!

You write a lot like I do. Can't wait for my stuff to get published so you can read it.

Hadn't heard about this until reading your article...the internet truly is opening up campaigning to the masses. I hope it does him some good.

It is too bad this is contrived. It would be amusing if it genuinely developed.
