This Friday, Six Flags and Cedar Fair shut down eight more thrill rides around North America, after a girl's feet were cut off in a ride in Louisville, Ken.

State inspectors arrived at the Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom to examine the Superman Tower of Power, where the accident happened this Thursday. According to the inspectors, the ride lifts passengers up 177 feet straight up into the air and then drops them nearly the same distance; the ride reached speeds as high as 54 mph.

A young girl was injured on a thrill ride at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom on Thursday according to the Associated Press. Louisville Metro Police Dispatch said that both of the girl's feet were severed in this disturbing accident. One witness was quoted saying, "I saw a lot of kids go up... I seen them going up then it came down and the cable came back around and hit a lot of people... They said the cable wrapped around somebody's legs and ripped them off."

It is still unclear at what point in the ride the 13-year-old girl was injured, according to Six Flags spokeswomen, Wendy Goldberg. The girl was rushed to a hospital after the incident where her condition was not immediately available Friday.

Six Flags shut down many rides similar to the Superman ride at parks in, St. Louis, Gurnee, Ill., and near Washington as a safety precaution, according to Goldberg. She said that Six Flags over Texas around Dallas, has a Superman Tower of Power, but the rides are not the same. Goldberg was quoted saying, "Millions of people have safely ridden this ride in our parks." She also claimed that there had been no reports of injuries on the ride before Thursday.

Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. also shut down their drop tower rides at five of its amusement parks for inspection to make sure that they are absolutely safe, according to company spokeswomen Stacy Frole. A Swiss company by the name of, Intamin AG, made all the rides but did not supply the parts, according to Sandor Kernacs, the president of the company's American operations, Intamin Ltd. In Glen Burnie, Md.

Today, Monday June 25th. Me and my sister went to Kings Dominion and saw the ride Drop Zone, was running and people were on it. Me and my sister were scared to see that people were actually riding this, but it did not close at any point of time unless it was quickly and poorly inspected in the morning when we were not there. [We got there at 12:45 P.M.] It was good reporting though. If anyone would like to comment back to this and tell me anything else email me at Mewstrawberry111@aim.com

Are you serious? You actually saw this girl in the accident, and you can't wait for it to reopen?
