I was listening to a speaker today who said that Hispanics are the new negro.

She was not being racist or insulting, but pointing out that Hispanics are taking jobs that even blacks refuse to take. Jobs such as housecleaning, lawncare, etc.

Her point was that this generation was the first full generation that has been off its knees. Basically because blacks have arisen to work in many places that we would not have been considered for.

Of course, she noted the continuing racist views, but not in the way too many blacks think of it. It was not a "lot in life" moment, but a "Still I rise" moment.

So, since it has taken over 145 years to move blacks from the fields to the boardroom, how long will it take for hispanics to let their employers raise their own kids and clean their own floors? Or at least earn pay representative of their experience.

Not trying to start any trouble, but the reality is few people have gotten anywhere by cleaning the lint from the washing machine.

In many ways blacks and hispanics are alike. Too many do not see the value of a good education. They will work hard, as evidenced by the street vendors in Los Angeles.

Hopefully Hispanics will not waste years being servants for people who do not need them, and show that by underpaying them and treating them badly.

Continue: If you been here for generations, your not going back to Africa anytime soon. If you want to improve your life, we have to do it collectively. We're apart of this country and have been for a long time, so we have to start in our communities and start sticking together and making changes for the better. It's just not about opportunities and government programs and all of that crap. It's starts in the very core of social responsibility and rational and positive thinking.

I'll just say Mexicans will be better off building up Mexico, then their poor citizens wouldn't have to come here illegally. I don't see them as servants or low class or taking jobs that blacks don't want. I see them as a part of our human family. I got no issue with Mexicans or the Hispanic people but I think its important for Mexico to improve. Too many people (not just Mexicans) run to this country and forget about their country. Collectively you'll always be worked to death unless you collectively build up your society. The same goes for African-American blacks in this country.
