Some people say there's really no such thing as laziness because it implies inaction. But according to these same people, inaction itself doesn't exist either since everything you do is action, including sitting on your butt. So while you may think you're being lazy, you're really performing the action of storing more fat than you burn off and putting on more weight. Whether you agree with that interpretation of laziness or not, you can find an effective cure for laziness and a motivation for proactive, progressive action. Here are a few suggestions:

Cure for Laziness Suggestion #1 - Make a List

You can start by making a 'to do' list at the begging of the day (or at the end of each night) and check off as you complete tasks. As you accomplish more, your pride and self-esteem builds and you'll feel motivated to complete your list, maybe to even go beyond it. Set a timed schedule to give yourself adequate time to finish each job.
Cure for Laziness Suggestion #2 - Visualize the Feeling of Success and Failure

Imagine what you'd feel like if you didn't complete your goal. Will you feel embarrassed? Worthless? Will your lack of motivation fuel itself and get worse? Now imagine how you'd feel after successfully finishing the task.

The first step to implementing a cure for laziness and ending procrastination is to figure out what the negative consequences of avoidance are versus the positive consequences. We tend to seek pleasure and avoid pain, but the modern day person oftentimes interprets the slightest discomfort or inconvenience as pain - including thins like chores, writing reports for the boss, etc. Instead of focusing on the immediate pleasure that avoiding action will give you, focus on the long-term pleasure and benefits that this cure for laziness technique can provide.

Cure for Laziness Suggestion #3 - Avoid Playing the Blame Game
