Los Angeles - Just south of the Golden State Freeway, officers were dispatched to a death investigation of a 56 year-old man whose body was located underneath the overpass. According to police, Oswaldo Mangas and the victim had gotten into a fight and Mangas pick up an object and struck the victim in the head. The victim died from sever head trauma. Mangas was being held on $1 million dollar bail. Investigators are still determining the exact cause of the incident. LAPD New Release states.

Los Angeles - On June 10th, a woman in her mid 20's was walking to her car in 6600 block of Sylmar Avenue when someone grabbed her and sexually assaulted her. Two other incidents have been reported as well that match the same MO of the first woman. The women that are targeted are in their 20's - 40's and walking up to their homes after work. The predator is assumed to be in his 20's or 30's, hispanic, with long brown hair that is kept in a ponytail. He is also approximately 5'2" - 5'4 tall and weighs 130-150 lbs. Anyone with any information regarding this case is to please call Van Nuys Detectives at 813-374-0040. LAPD News Release states.

Los Angeles - Rogelio G. Pereira has been arrested for the death of Douglas Brown who was killed in May 1993 when a tractor trailer crashed into his Toyota Celica. Pereira who fled the scene on foot had been a fugitive since 1993. Pereira was arrested in Mexico by the U.S. Marshals Service. He was then turned over to Mexican immigration officials. He was then booked later in Los Angeles for investigation of aggravated vehicular homicide, reports the AP.

Newport Beach - Charles Reginald Alp pleaded guilty to possessing methamphetamine even though he alleges he did not agree to a search. On October 19, 2005, Alp had been pulled over by Newport Beach police officers Jamie Lopez and Steve Burdette. Burdette who questioned Alp about having drugs had made a statement "Start jacking me around, I'm going to own you..". The court has ruled that the "own you"statement was intimidating and overturned Alp's guilty plea, the Orange County News reported.
