June 24, 2007 is rock musician Mick Fleetwood's 65th birthday. I would like to wish him a very, very happy birthday.

He is the legendary drummer for Fleetwood Mac. The group has been through several incarnations, and Mick has been given credit for his determination for keeping the band together through the years. Their success, acclaim and longevity is attributed to Mick.

Family
Mick Fleetwood was born to Mike Fleetwood and Bridgit Brereton. His father was in the Royal Air Force, and he traveled in his youth to places such as Egypt and Norway. He had two older sisters, Sally and Susan. Susan Fleetwood succumbed to ovarian cancer in 1995. She was a British actor and an Associate artist with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Mick Fleetwood has been married three times. His first marriage was to Jenny Boyd in 1970. They have two daughters Amy Rose and Lucy. He married Sara Recor in 1988 and Lynn Frankel in 1995. He is now a grandfather and hoping to have a family with Lynn.

Musical Career
Mick Fleetwood's first musical job was with a group called the Cheynes', and he was of course, the drummer. He also played with Bo Street Runners, Peter B's Shotgun Express (a group Rod Stewart was also in), and John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers. He was let go from the "Bluesbreakers" for drunkenness while playing on stage. Later he was asked by Peter Green to join John McVie and their group Fleetwood Mac. The rest is shall we say... history.

Fleetwood Mac
Fleetwood Mac has released more than fifty albums. The two most popular are "Fleetwood Mac" and "Rumours". "Rumours" sold more than 100 million albums. Both of these albums were released in the 70's, at the height of the group's fame.

The group's popularity and acclaim in the 70's was with Mick Fleetwood, Christine and John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. Today Christine is not with Fleetwood Mac. She has a solo career and prefers to stay out of the spotlight.
