It's interesting how quickly a person can respond with their favourite colour the moment they are asked. I know mine immediately (brown) as this has been my favourite colour without change for as long as I can remember. As fickle as we humans tend to be, favourite colours are guarded with such loyalty and defense that it makes one wonder- Is there more to our top colour choices than simple favouritism? I say there is. I believe a person's favourite colour is also a direct reflection of that same individual's personality. It explains perfectly why favourite colour spectrums never change, although our favourite food, movie, animal, and even friends rotate with surprising and unexpected speed.
Let me put it this way- have you ever met a person who's favourite colour is yellow who WASN'T a sunny and bright person who loves to laugh and have fun? Or a lover of red who lacks spontaneity and sexuality, a pink devotee who isn't in love with love, purple fans who don't want to be center of attention or green supporters who don't love to be in the outdoors...even the white and black lovers tend to follow the same stereotypical pattern of colour personality representation. Black is most adored by those who are private and moody whereas white is honored by individuals who must go by the book and are very neat and detailed. Let's not forget orange- these fiery personalities who love this colour are extremely opinionated but lovable.
In case you were wondering, us brown lovers? We're earthy, low-key and mild...for the most part.
Now, I'm not trying to box anyone in. God knows I'm the LAST person who would try to do this type of thing and NOT expect to get horrible feedback on it. What I am saying though is that colours are representative of different emotions, and people who tend to have certain emotional and character traits are naturally drawn to certain colour palates. That's why it makes perfect sense that I love brown. I have a brown personality.
