Product Review: Nekkie Blanket - A Mother's New Best Friend

Most parents know the benefits of theie babies having naked time. Babies are born naked and will, usually, always prefer to be naked. But what is a parent to do about wetting accidents while their baby is enjoying their personal naked time? That's where the Nekkie Blankie comes in handy.

This versatile blanket was developed by a mother who was in search of something to prevent her children from wetting all over her carpets while they were having naked time. After scouring the web for some sort of alternative, and not finding anything useful, she decided to create her own
product. That was when the Nekkie Blankie was born.

Before I can tell you what I thought about the Nekkie Blankie I guess I should tell you what the blanket is. The blanket is made up of three layers of material. The top layer, where your baby lays, is made of a soft fabric that quickly wicks away any wetness that your baby may produc while lying on the blanket. The middle layer is a thicker layer that absorbs the wetness; it is basically the same material that high quality cloth diapers are made from, and the third layer is a waterproof layer that keeps the wetness from seeping out and onto your carpets. The top and bottom layers are sewn together on three sides and the fourth side closes with snaps. The middle layer is held in place between the two by snaps. All three layers are great at staying in place.

When the Nekkie Blankie has been soiled you simply unsnap the end, remove the inner layer and throw it all into the washing machine. By removing the middle layer you are able to ensure that all three layers will come clean and it helps the blanket dry quicker. There is even an attached tag that lets you know how to wash and dry this wonderful blanket correctly.

Sounds cool! When my child was having horrible diaper ow-ees before I started using homemade wipes (I have an article about that!) I tried to make a homemade version of this - fleece blanky to wick, absorbent cloth diapers under that, and her plastic covered mattress at the bottom. Having it all attached as one piece would be good! And the other uses they suggest are great, too!

I've never heard of the Nekkie Blanke before...well before now, anyway. What a great idea that is!

What a great product and one I also wish that I had when my girls were small. Thankfully my 3 and 4 year olds are both potty trained and have no bedwetting issues. I also thought that you are line at the bottom that directs people to your CP is awesome!! A lot of people that are not CP's would not know that they could view more writing of your's. :)

This is great! Mine are too mobile for it, wish I'd known 9 months ago. I'd have used it for baby to nap and sleep at night on, too. My kids always had rashes from the heat diapers cause.
