Possible UFO Sighting by British Pilot and Passengers

Several weeks ago, a UFO was spotted by a British pilot and passengers, according to Fox News.

Allegedly, the craft that was spotted is one of the largest ever seen, per the Evening Standard. It was described as white, glowing, and about a mile wide. The pilot, Aurigny Airlines Captain Ray Bowyer, 50, described the craft as "a cigar-shaped brilliant white light."

The Evening Standard cited an air mass report on the sighting which was reported several weeks ago in Pilot Magazine. Bowyer told the Evening Standard that "It was a very sharp, thin yellow object with a green area." He mentioned that he had used binoculars to look at the object more closely. "It was 2,000 feet up and stationary. I thought it was about 10 miles away, although I later realized it was approximately 40 miles from us...At first, I thought it was the size of a [Boeing] 737, but it must have been much bigger because of how far away it was. It could have been as much as a mile wide."

In the Evening Standard story, Bowyer noticed yet another "second identical object further to the west," as they continued toward Guernsey, their destination. "It was exactly the same but looked smaller because it was further away. It was closer to Guernsey. I can't explain it. This was clearly visual for about nine minutes...I'm certainly not saying that it was something of another world. All I'm saying is that I have never seen anything like it before in all my years of flying."

Kate and John Russell were passengers on the flight, and they confirmed the sighting. John, 74, described the sighting as: "I saw an orange light. It was like an elongated oval."

An unnamed pilot with the Blue Islands airline confirmed the sighting as well, as did a Tri-Lander aircraft flying close to Alderney, per The Civil Aviation Authority safety notice. A senior CAA source said "Certain parts of the report have not been published. I cannot say why."
