Couple Has Already Raised $10,200 to Avoid Aborting Their Baby. They Want $50,000

An anonymous couple has already raised $10, 200 (as on June 25th) in an attempt not to abort their child. You can follow the progress of this thing by going to http://helpmybabylive.com where a ticker will update you on their endeavours.

According to this web site, the couple, who decided to remain anonymous, has threatened not to have their baby if they are not able to raise at least $50,000 in 90 days. They believe this is the minimum amount needed to give their future newborn the life they think the baby should have.
Although they know that this is not the total amount need it to raise the child into adulthood, they truly believe that with $50000 they will be able to start their newborn in the right path for a good life.

They have and Update section on their website that functions kind of a Question and Answer section. There are some interesting things published in their Update section. To the possibility that the child (if born) may result damaged with their actions they say that it will never happen since they have decided not to tell anybody (including) their future child if born). SO, they think that by this they will be able to protect their child.

Also, there is an update on the question of why they have put a value of $50000 on the baby's life. They answer is that the financial issue of rising a child is always a factor to take into account when deciding to bring a child into this world.

They say that there are 83 days left for their last chance to meet the $50,000 challenge. So we will assume that the web site have been running for 7 days only and has already got $10,200 (as of June 25th) so there is a good possibility that they will raise the needed monetary funds. They make it clear that there is no obligation on their part to do anything after the money is raised. They will make the decision in 90 days, they will not contact the winner of the "auction," and they will not post any updates on the child nor photos, no nothing. They will just make the decision.

They seem like nothing but a couple of low-life scammers who have found a way to convince others to give them money to save their poor helpless baby - if there even is a baby. They really should be ashamed of themselves, but the things people will do for money these days never ceases to amaze me. I agree with Martha, and I also wonder if what they're doing to try and raise money is really even legal. I hope they're shut down, and I'd like to see legal action taken against them. Their site now says that Paypal will no longer allow them to accept donations, but they managed to get $13,000 - supposedly.
