I suggest that you tell the dad to be first and then you both decide together how to tell your friends and family. So here are some fun ideas to surprise your family and friends with the wonderful news of expecting.
Buy a maternity shirt that says baby or something babyish on it that you would not regularly wear and wear it but make a little bump so it is obvious you are wearing a maternity shirt. Your family will wonder what is going on.
This is fun have your friends and family over for dinner put obvious baby things around the house that they will see and see if they guess that you are expecting, if this doesn't work because let's face it sometimes people are not all that observant. After dinner have your friends and family join you in a game of charades and put a pillow in your shirt they will guess pregnant but then point to yourself and your husband and then write on the board "were pregnant!!!!" this is a really fun way to tell your friends and family you are pregnant.
Get a shirt or bib that says I love my grandma, and I love my grandpa wrap it up and give it to them as presents they will figure it out that you are pregnant and they will cherish these gifts for life.
Make a t-shirt that says something like "baby on board" or "future mother to be" and wear it to the next family get together. People will start asking questions and there will be much speculation then at dinner make a toast and announce that you are expecting.
Get a baby on board bumper sticker and put it on your car then make sure grandma and grandpa and friends see your car before you leave. If they don't see the bumper sticker and ask questions on there own then say, want to see my new bumper sticker? They will come out and see it and then let it sink in and then say we are expecting or say I am pregnant.
