Peoria, Illinois, Basketball Coach Indicted for Sexual Assault

Peoria - Andre Williams, 34, a Peoria High School basketball coach has been indicted for sexually assaulting two 15-year-old girls. Williams is being charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault. Williams has been a coach for the high school for over 13 years. At this time, Williams is still an employee with the high school but is on paid leave. He is not in custody as of today, a warrant has been issued and his bond is set for $100,000. If convicted of charges, Williams could face up to 15 years for each assault charge and seven years for each abuse charge, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Cook County - Nico Dezort, 17 was shot and killed as he was walking on Marmora Street around 5:30 p.m Monday night. According to police a man jumped out of a vehicle filled with five men and began firing at Dezort. Dezort was transported to Children's Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead a short while later. Just a few hours before the shooting occurred, Dezort was having lunch with his grandmother. No suspects or arrests have been made as of today. His grandmother told the Chicago Tribune, " He was a very sweet, quiet and sometimes shy little boy", the Chicago Tribune reports.

Gresham - A 24 year-old man whose name has not been identified was killed this morning when a gunman opened fire on his car causing him to crash. Two passengers, a 19 ear-old and a 16 year-old were in the car as well, fortunately the two did not suffer any life threatening injuries. All three victims were in a 2002 Cadillac when the unknown gunman got out of the car and shot the driver in the chest two times. The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. Detectives were not sure of the motive and are investigating the incident. The shooter has yet to be recovered as of today, reports the Chicago Tribune.
