PETA Announces Sexiest Vegetarians

As a yearly service to the public at large, aside from making their stance on animal rights well known, PETA ( People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals) creates a list of the sexiest vegetarian celebrities. As shown on PETA's website here are the winners:

The 2007 sexiest female celebrity vegetarian is Carrie Underwood! The 2007 winner for the male side is Kevin Eubanks!

Carrie Underwood is of course the pop-country singer who owes her roots in success to the mega popular American Idol television series. After getting on the show through auditions in Saint Louis, Mo., Carrie Underwood went on to win the 2005 contest. She has been selling music records and winning awards ever since.

Kevin Eubanks is the band leader and guitar player for Jay Leno's tonight show band. Jay Leno had heard about the contest and was being sure to make mention of it on his show. It is speculated that his publicity towards Eubanks being a vegetarian may have helped land the musician the winning spot on the list. Leno also happens to kid Eubanks about his usage of marijuana quite a bit, so perhaps a High Times salute won't be far behind?

PETA is also known for its advertisements involving nude celebrities denouncing the wearing of fur and animal products, with Pamela Anderson being one of the more upfront supporters and voices. PETA held the competition by having visitors to its website cast their votes. The PETA websites claims that tens of thousands of people weighed in on the subject and picked their favorites. Corresponding with the allure of celebrities the website is full of information on how people may help in the fight for animal rights. PETA, indeed seems determined to undermine any perceived act of animal cruelty.
