The Savage Nation with Michael Savage is Growing for a Reason

Michael Savage is the highest rated independent talk show host in the United States with over 10,000,000 listeners weekly listening on over 400 radio stations around the country. Broadcasting from the San Francisco area every weekday, The Savage Nation is ranked third among nationally syndicated talk shows and continues to attract new listeners daily. Whether you agree with Michael Savage or not, you have to admit that he is at least an independent thinker who is radically different from anyone else in the new media.

Michael Savage (AKA Michael Weiner) is actually fairly new to radio. He began hosting a local show in the Bay Area in 1994 and was not syndicated nationally until 2000. No doubt part of Savage's success is based upon his four New York Times best sellers The Savage Nation, The Enemy Within, Liberalism is a Mental Disorder, & The Political Zoo.

Savage was trained as a scientist and earned masters degrees and a doctorate from the University of California Berkely. Before he started work as a political commentator, Savage wrote 15 books, most of which were about health and botany and some of which he has had recently reprinted.

Michael Savage is a self proclaimed "independent conservative" who is extremely critical of the Democrat party and almost as critical of the Republican party. He sometimes highlights the many similarities of these parties by calling them Demicans and Republicrats. In fact, Savage is known for crafting words on the fly and claims to have personally invented the terms "compassionate conservative" and "Islamo-fascism".

Michael Savage is the founder of the "Paul Revere Society" which seeks to preserve American "borders, language, and culture". Thus, Michael Savage has been an outspoken critic of illegal immigration, bilingual education, and what he sees signs of cultural decay including homosexuality and abortion.

Savage has a reputation in the talk show world as being one of the "hardest hitting" commentators on the radio which is probably the reason for much of his success. Savage tells it like he sees it with no regard for what might be the politically correct thing to say.
