It's true.

Your ex could have viewed your myspace profile 44 times last week.

Your manager could be viewing your profile on a daily basis.

You could have some crazy cyberstalker that you don't know about.

Unfortunately you may never know, because Myspace doesn't allow you to see who viewed your page. That was until a little site popped up a while ago by the name of Profilesnoop.com.

Profilesnoop.com's motto is "Snoop on them while they snoop on you". How many of us haven't secretly viewed the pages of our exes, enemies, old high school crushes, co-workers, etc.? We all do it.

Profilesnoop.com provided you with a code to input into your myspace profile. This code would track all visitors that viewed your site, literally snapping a photo of them When you signed on your profilesnoop.com account, it had all that information neatly summarized and ready for you to view.

I was on the of the lucky ones who actually got to use it before it was shut down by Myspace. For about a week, I had this wonderful little tool on my profile. It was just a bit of code, entered in the "Who I'd like to meet" section, not visible to anyone but myself.

It captured photos of anyone who viewed my profile, along with the date, time and IP address. I would automatically be re-directed to a person's mypsace profile by clicking on their photo. Some were my own friends, others were a huge surprise. I found out that I was getting regular views from the last guy I dated and his on-again/off-again girlfriend. Who knew? We're not even friends!

Of course, it was too good to last. Only five days after I registered with the site, the forums were buzzing with talk about the code being stripped from their profiles, along with all the text and photos in their "Who I'd like to meet" section. Apparently, the code is in violation of myspace's privacy policy.

By the next day, it was gone from my profile as well. I was sad to see it go.

Is it right for Myspace to block me from being able to know who visits my profile? Maybe. Maybe not.

Takeaways
 • Do you want to know who is viewing your MySpace profile?
 • Why do you think MySpace won't allow its users to see who is viewing their profiles?

Great topic. I had to close my myspace to public view due to this problem. :(

Knowing who would help direct any promotion methods for sure, could make contacts even more personal and sly. As for stalkers, I invite them

Whoa- I wish I was reading your articles when MySpace was popular. They're all really good and informative.

I tried what Sanya said to do, and it does work, but it only tracks me when I view my myspace profile. I had my son click on my profile to see if it would track him and it didn't. I might delete my profile snitch account.

... for that split second :) ENJOY AND YOU'RE WELCOME!

Okay so I decided to be nice and post the code... I replaced the with [ ] so make sure to change those when you put this on your profile!! [div style="position: absolute; left: 187; top: 60; visiblity: visible; width: 100; height: 100; z-index: 2"] [/div] [div style="position: absolute; left: 187; top: 60; visiblity: visible; width: 100; height: 100; z-index: 2"] [/div] I put that tinypic image up, it's blue so it's the same color as the top banner area of your myspace profile. Your profile snitch logo should now be hidden behind that banner. The blue image is there to cover it up because when you load a myspace page, there is a split second before the ad banner comes up to hide the profile snitch logo... and if you don't have something covering the profile snitch logo (like the blue image) people will probably see it for th

If you want to hide the profile snitch logo you can use two div layers, one which holds the icon (since you have to have it on your page for it to work) and then the 2nd layer should be the top layer and should be an image the same color as your background. Then, position the two div layers at the exact same point so that they are hidden behind the ad banner at the top of every myspace profile page. Of course, you've got to know a bit of HTML for this :) just do a search for HTML help on div layers

What is my myspace # id, how do I find that out?

I had the same issue as you with some chick my man used to talk to. I have used profile peep and after they shut down I switched to ms tracker. Which actuall y displayed the person picture on your page. So the next time they hit up your page they'll see their face and maybe the embarrassment will send them packing. I think Mysapce should allow you to see who is on your page for many obvious reasons. But also for just personal security of knowing who has been creeping on your page and how many times a day. Myspace now offers a privacy blocker though. So you are now able to make your page private. That is what I did. What sucks though is I am singer and do music and my page was a music page and the privacy setting doesn't work for music pages. So I cancelled my account and made a new one and added the privacy setting so only my friends and people I accept can view my page. It's a much better option. Although knowing that chick saw her face on my page after she had been hitting my page

brandon, I deleted everything after border "0"> and it still didn't take off the icon for profile snitch. I posted it in the "about me" section. What did I do wrong?
