Love is a two way street. If you are not being treated right then it is time to let the relationship go and find a new street to venture down. For example, if you are being physically and mentally abused by anyone you need to stay clear away from him or her. It is important to remind yourself that you deserve the best and you will get it. It is better to be alone than be miserable or have your life in danger. There are so many situations where people are killed due to domestic disputes. I have a dear friend who lost her daughter due to domestic violence. The man her daughter was dating gradually grew more and more violent over time and eventually killed the young lady. I believe we are all given warning signs. Most of the time the way a person presents themselves is typically the person you will end up with and there is nothing you can do to change him or her.
There are other instances where a significant other will decrease the self esteem in a person. They will say there significant other isn't living up to there expectations claiming they may be over weight, don't make enough money, not what they wanted, etc.
All of these are signs to leave. If you find you don't fill good about yourself anymore or you are constantly trying to please some who doesn't want to be please just let it go.
Here are some wonderful tips to help you get over your situation:
1. Go on vacation. If you can't afford to go far call an old friend and have a slumber party or hang out night, but if you can afford more go somewhere exotic and leave your phone at home!
2. Delete his or her number out of your phone.
3. Get a piece of paper and write out every pro and con of the relationship. I want you to write something good and bad from the beginning to the end of the relationship in great detail. Read it whenever you get weak and want to contact the person.
4. Move. Get out of dodge. Move to Alaska or the town next door it is so much easier to start over in new environments.
5. Stay busy. Start a hobby or ridiculous project that will take up all of your time and be virtually impossible to finish.
6. Exercise. Go to the gym and work out all of your problems.
