Chris Benoit and his family were found dead in their million dollar mansion Monday, the 25th of June. WWE dedicated a three hour special to Chris, in place of their normally scheduled show. The fans of Chris Benoit had to have been shocked when Vince McMann announced the terrible news. All of the WWE wrestlers took time to tell of their experience working with Chris Benoit. All of them labeled him a respectable man and a very dedicated individual. They said he truly cared about his career with wrestling.

I watched this three hour special, well most of it anyway. I felt the tears rising and the sadness I felt as Chris and his family were displayed at the bottom of the screen throughout this tribute. My first thought led me to believe they were killed in a car crash.

It was Tuesday when I learned that the police believed it to be a double murder suicide. They believed that Chris Benoit murdered his son and wife before falling victim to his own suicide. The night of Tuesday was when I found out what had happened. The only news I gathered was there were no guns involved. I immediately broke down into tears at the possibilities of how he had murdered his wife and child. Then it came. On CNN nightly news I found out that Chris had murdered his son and wife over the weekend and then killed himself Monday.

Wednesday I learned more. I learned that Chris actually murdered Nancy, his wife, on Friday. He strangled her. On Saturday, he smothered his son. They say a few hours after murdering his son he hung himself with a cord from his home gym. I read that the possibility for motive was an ongoing argument between Chris and Nancy. Nancy wanted him to stay home more to help take care of their mentally retarded son. It was said that she didn't want him to quit wrestling period; she just wanted a little more help. There were also arguments over where he was going to go to school. I suppose they were planning for the upcoming school year.

I'm writing with the assumption that you wrote this soon after the news of this tragedy was released. The comments I have are basically corrections, even if they are minor, and semantic. First is that I don't think the Benoit residence is considered a mansion, I believe it was only reported to be around $700,000. I say this because I don't think the value of the property reflects on the person, or his abilities to do, or not do things. I don't think any of his fellow wrestlers are kicking themselves for their respect of Chris Benoit. He was as they saw him, I personally don't believe he was a fraud, and I don't think anyone who knew him - even now - would say so. Even his ex-wife. As far as Nancy's claims in 2003, it wasn't that she wasn't taken seriously - she dropped all charges. I think I has read that she had done something similar in her previous marriage as well. As far as the comment on whether or not Chris Benoit would regret what he did if he didn't take his own life:
