Desserts - Cookies and Cakes

When we hear the word cookies and cakes, we think of our favorite flavors and tastes of sweets. We think of maybe baking with our mother or grandmother those delicious treats only they made when we were young. These desserts are something we enjoy and savor as if they were a favorite toy.
Even those who are watching their weight, there are cookies that are for dieters. Just the thought alone can be satisfying.

Some people have cookies and cakes at home all the time; while others have those delectable desserts around only for grand occasions. While some are store bought, made custom, gourmet, or very hard recipes handed down from generation to generation, it is always something we like to present to ourselves and our guests in varied ways with creativity and care.

Cookies can be used as wedding favors at the reception. For use as parting gifts for the wedding guests, monogrammed letters of the couples' first letter of their name are lovely. Giving miniature cookies away in a miniature jar is another wedding favor waiting to be cherished. Another idea with more sophisticated looks is a monogrammed small box lined with plastic to store the cookies. To show how wonderful cookies can be, couple them with flavored tea bags in a box, customized with corrugated paper to form sections for cookies and tea bags side by side.

Cakes have a rating as the best comfort food, second to cookies. Most all celebrations are celebrated with cakes as the main course, or theme. We have royal cakes, chocolate cakes, birthday cakes, wedding cakes, pretty cakes, cheese cakes, special cakes, and just cakes we eat when we want to feed and spoil our sweet tooth.
