CO2 emissions, global warming, deforestation, and the loss of the Earth's wildlife are just a few side effects of our carbon footprint. While hundreds of organizations develop initiatives to reduce the impact of human consumption, others simply choose to ignore the movement. If helping Mother Earth is not on the top of your agenda here are ten ways to waste energy and ignore the green movement completely:

1. Turn up your water heater thermostat. Every 10° increase helps him with put out 600 pounds of CO2 emissions per year from an electric water heater and 440 pounds from the gas heater.

2. Always set the clothes washer to the hottest settings, increasing the temperature can help add an additional 500 pounds of CO2 per year.

3. Turn up the generator all the way. Generators use up about 20% of household electricity and if you keep turning it up and avoid switching the energy-saver button on, you might just use up to 30% instead.

4. Don't insulate your wall or ceilings. If you live in a super cold environments, be sure to up the heat factor by increasing gas and electricity appliances to stay warm and toasty; avoid installing fuel-efficient energy-saving models at all costs.

5. If you live in a very hot climate, consider painting your house a nice dark color. You'll be attracting plenty of heat from the sun, resulting in a much higher output from your air conditioner.

6. Choose disposable products whenever possible; increasing the amount of landfill waste should become a top priority. You'll start to do this when choosing brands and products at the grocery store. Avoid the 'recyclable materials' label whenever possible.

7. Purchase a car that gets less than 25 miles per gallon; this is the easiest way to increase your annual CO2 emissions.

8. Install a luxury showerheads that features high pressure, high flow capacity; you want to use as much hot water as possible so that your electricity output reaches a record high this year.

9. Set your thermostats to at least 80° in the summer time and crank it up even more during the winter when you feel cold. Maintaining a steady temperature should not be a part of your vocabulary.
