Wet and Cool Family Fun - Places to Go

If your goal this summer is to get wet and stay cool here are some places to check out.

* In Kentucky at the Six Flags Park, a new water coaster called 'Deluge' takes four people through a variety of twists, turns and tunnels. Splashwater Kingdom there will now host a new Buccaneer Beach area for children.

* Santa Claus IN has a new seven-story attraction, 'Babuli' that will keep you in the dark as you go through a nine foot wide tunnel before being dropped into a huge bowl, and then through another tunnel.

* Take an enclosed 'Voodoo' ride 80 feet high at Blue Bayou Waterpark and Dixie Landin' at Baton Rough LA.

* In Quansbury NY at the Six Flags Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom, you can ride the 'Tornado' in cloverleaf shaped rafts that will take you through tunnels before ending up in a giant funnel.

* 'Journey to Atlantis' is in Sea World in San Antonio. This ride is a mixture part roller coaster and part water ride.

* Go to Doswell VA and visit the water works at Kings Dominion. Here you can enjoy two different wave pools and ride a new log flume. You can also ride 'Tornado,' a 65-foot water ride.

* While in the state of Arkansas, you must go to the Magic Springs and Crystal Falls in the town of Hot Springs to experience the largest water slide playground in that state. Included in this water park are three new speed slides, four tube slides and a new play pool.

* Celebrating its 100th anniversary this year is Hersheypark in PA. For simulating body surfing, check out the wave pool. There is also a play area for kids plus a new boardwalk.

* At Boulder Beach in Silverwood ID some water excitement is on its way. Being developed is a 40-foot high raft ride, a wave pool, a play area for kids and a VIP Cabana Island that will be for rent.

For those not wishing to get wet, but still wanting to have some fun with the kids check out these sites.

* Shamus Happy Harbor in Sea World Orlando is adding three new rides. The 'Ocean Commotion' is a boat ride that swings. The 'Flying Fiddler' is a ride that will lift the young passengers 20 feet in the air and wiggle them around. There will also be a new carousel ride added with 65 new water creatures to ride on.
