Top 10 Movies Starting with the Letter "B"

In trying to make a list of my top ten films that start with the letter B, I found it more difficult than my previous listing with A, and though Beauty and the Beast does not make the list it will hold a strong place in my memories; Disney has such influential power over a young mind. However, even though I struggled with not adding Blow or Big I immediately knew what film would be my number one pick and now the count down to what that is begins...

10. Brick- A fairly recent release compared to the others on the list there is just something about the noir style and slang of this Rian Johnson directed film that always makes me want to watch it again. A detective murder mystery set in a high school atmosphere this movie showed off the true dramatic acting talents of Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

9. Bringing Out the Dead- The 1999 Martin Scorsese movie about ambulance paramedics in New York, always interests me with its gritty drama. Nicholas Cage can bounce back and forth from being a good actor to being a bad one, and since I actually like him this movie gave me a chance to do that since he does a great job. Tom Sizemore, John Goodman, and Ving Rhames as fellow ambulance drivers really bring a lot of character and fun to the film.

8. Beetlejuice- As a kid I was into darker themed things and what gets darker than death? The Tim Burton classic always fascinated me and still holds up pretty well today when watched.

7. Boogie Nights - As a writer I am a huge fan of storytelling and PT Anderson films are some of the best. The large cast of Boogie Nights, telling the story of a young man accepted into a family run porn business, are all stellar. There are many notable scenes that make this film excellent, but my favorite has always been the donut shop shootout with Don Cheadle's character.

6. Blade - The blood soaked comic story with Wesley Snipes as a vampire butt-kicker can always entertain me no matter how many times I have seen it. The movie works great as something to just pop into the DVD player when there is nothing better to do and I don't want to think too hard.
