The root chakra is located at the base of the spine and it is a place of balance. The root chakra helps us to trust more, to feel safe and secure in every aspect of our lives. The root chakra is considered our very first chakra and it is the foundation of our overall well-being. The word chakra in Sanskrit means 'wheel' and our chakras turn clockwise all the time. However, they can grow larger in size if they are too open or shrink to a smaller size if they are not open enough. Each chakra has it's own color.
The root chakra is red. It is associated with the body parts such as the feet, legs, back, and bones. Another part of us that is governed by the root chakra is our self-esteem. This is another place where fear comes into play. When we have low self-esteem, we tend to feel as though we don't measure up to others in some form or fashion, whether it's money, material possessions, relationships, career, etc.
No matter what the emotional issue, it starts within us first. It hardly ever has anything to do with not having enough of something. It's a feeling we have within us that we don't have enough or we are not enough ourselves. In addition, physical well-being is governed by the root chakra as well.
If you haven't been feeling up to par in any of these areas lately, your root chakra is more than likely in need of balancing, which isn't hard to do at all. Therefore, if you're feeling worry, doubt, fear about anything, you should try the following essential oil to help you balance your chakra.
My first suggestion is to visualize your chakra. See a nice bright deep red wheel at the base of your spine spinning clockwise at a steady pace. You can use this visualization as often as you wish. This type of meditation helps you to see your chakra as already balanced. Therefore, your intentions alone will help it balance if you already see it as such.
After you get a clear visual in your mind of your root chakra, place one drop of sandalwood oil in the palm of your hand. Rub your hands together. Hold your hands about 2-3 inches from your face and inhale the lovely fragrance in a few times while continuing to keep your focus on your root chakra in perfect balance.
