June is National Dairy Month so it is natural to think about cows. National Dairy Month has been celebrated since l937. Cows are great at predicting the weather. Long before National Dairy Month was started people have used cows to predict the weather.
You can always look at a herd of cows and determine what the weather will be in the near future. Cows love to herd together and spend the day close to each other. If you see a heard of cows that are somewhat spread out then you know it is going to be a nice day. When the weather is clear and nice out the cows feel confident to be apart. If the cows and clustering together you know something is up. The closer the cows are together the worse the weather is going to be.
When a cow does not give milk it is a sign that rain is coming soon. Or when you see cattle lying down in the pasture they are trying to tell us that it is going to rain. Or is you see cattle licking their forefeet it is a sign of rain to come.
Cows are usually calm in their stalls but if you see a restless cow it is a prediction that rain is coming. A cow that is stretching their neck or rubbing against a post is a restless cow. They sense a change in the atmosphere and they are telling humans to watch out for rain.
Old timers used their cows to tell them the weather. They spent a lot of time with their cows and they grew to be able to communicate with the cows at a certain level. Spending so much time with an animal helps you to be able to see what it is trying to say.
The next time you are in the country and you don't know what the weather is going to do look at a herd of cattle and try to read what they are saying. Then wait to see what the weather does and it will help you to understand cows. Cows can give you an accurate weather forecast if you just take the time to watch and listen.

i think cows can tell when the weather is an it is very cook i think , my grand parents think im weird but i say reading cow's is just another way to tell what the weather might be!

I have been reading cattle for years. My Family thinks that I am crazy but it works everytime.
